Should You Side With Sellen or Jerren in Elden Ring?

Should You Side With Sellen or Jerren in Elden Ring?

In Elden Ring, Sorceress Sellen is an exile from the Raya Lucaria Academy. You can meet her at the Waypoint Ruins and start her quest there.

Witch-Hunter Jerren, on the other hand, is located in Redmane Castle and tied to Sorceress Sellen’s quest.

Toward the end of her questline, you must choose between Sorceress Sellen and the Witch Hunter Jerren.

While the decision to help Sellen or Jerren should be based primarily on your preference, you need to be aware of the consequences of each choice.

Kill Sellen or Jerren?

If you want better rewards, then you should kill Jerren, therefore siding with Sellen.

However, if you kill Sellen, you’ll lock yourself out from finishing her quest, and the rewards are less appealing.

Therefore, on balance, it is better to side with Sellen over Jerren.

Of course, the one you choose to kill is a personal choice, but there will be different implications to each decision you make.

Following the meeting with Jerren, Raya Lucaria Grand Library will host an NPC boss fight.

Outside the entrance are two summon signs for Sellen and Jerren, but you must choose one to battle the other.

If you choose to side with Witch Hunter Jerren, you will teleport to his world where you must defeat the Sorceress Sellen.

After you defeat Sellen, you will acquire Sellen’s Bell Bearing and the Witch’s Glintstone Crown.

Additionally, if you talk to Jerren after the fight, you’ll get the Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.

Alternatively, if you side with Sorceress Sellen, you’ll be summoned to help her kill Witch Hunter Jerren.

After you defeat Jerren, you will receive the Eccentric armor set.

Also, if you speak with Sellen after the fight, she will award you with the Glintstone Kris and an additional spell called the Shard Spiral to sell.

The best part about siding with Sellen and completing her quest is obtaining some of the best mages’ armor sets.

Both the Azur Glinstone and Lusat Glinstone sets can both be found in the initial location of Primeval Sorcerer Azur and Master Lusat.

Unfortunately, completing her quest results in a sad ending for Sellen.
