Can You Reset Your Stats in Elden Ring?

Can You Reset Your Stats in Elden Ring?

Yes, you can reset your stats in Elden Ring.

This allows you to reallocate your attributes to create an entirely new build for your character.

If you’re not happy with the way the game is playing, or if you just want to try a new build, you can respec your character.

This is a great way to experiment with different playstyles and find one that you enjoy.

How to Reset Your Stats

To reset your stats, you must first defeat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, in the Raya Lucaria Academy.

Once she is defeated, you can find her in her boss arena, where she will offer to respec your character for a Larval Tear.

Larval Tears are a rare item and to help you find them we’ve listed where all 18 Larval Tears are located.

Here are the steps on how to respec in Elden Ring:

  1. Defeat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon
  2. Travel to the Raya Lucaria Grand Library Site of Grace
  3. Talk to Rennala
  4. Select the “Rebirth” option
  5. Spend a Larval Tear to respec your character
  6. Reallocate your stats as desired

In each playthrough, you can acquire 18 Larval Tears, allowing you to respec your character 18 times.

However, when you progress to a new game plus, you’ll once again be able to collect all 18 Larval Tears if desired.

When Should You Reset Your Stats?

While it may be tempting to redo your stats as soon as you obtain a Larval Tear, you should wait until a good time to do so.

After all, you have a limited number of times you can respec.

Here are a couple of good reasons to reset your stats in Elden Ring:

Difficult Boss

Elden Ring gives you the option to select the armor and weapon for the build you want, but occasionally a boss battle may just totally counter it.

If you primarily use a flaming sword, it won’t help you much against the Serpent at the Volcano Manor or a magic build won’t be ideal against Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon.

New Build

Sometimes you may want to experiment with a new build.

Let’s say you got tired from using heavy weapons and you want to try a Magic build focused on Intelligence, then it’s worth spending one of your Larval Tears.
