How to Get Ranni’s Ending In Elden Ring

Elden Ring has a total of 6 different endings and all of them require you to perform certain tasks to unlock them.

The Age of the Stars ending is tied to Ranni the Witch’s quest, which means you’ll have to complete her quest in order to achieve this ending.

Many players consider this to be the best ending in Elden Ring.

However, it isn’t easy to get as you’ll need to complete multiple steps before you can achieve it.

Age of the Stars Elden Ring

To get the Age of the Stars Ending, you’ll have to complete Ranni’s questline and then summon her after you beat the final boss of the game.

Ranni the Witch’s quest officially begins after talking to her on Ranni’s Rise at Caria Manor in Liurnia of the Lakes.

Start Ranni’s Quest

Firstly, you’ll need to initiate Ranni’s quest. Here’s how to start her questline:

  1. Reach Caria Manor and defeat Royal Knight Loretta.
  2. Make your way to Ranni’s Rise from the Three Sisters.
  3. There, you’ll meet Ranni the Witch, who previously introduced herself as Renna, and she will ask you to join her service.
  4. Picking yes will initiate her questline and she will ask you to perform certain tasks for her.
  5. Your first task will be to talk to her other Servants, which are Blaidd the Half-Wolf, War Councilor Iji and Preceptor Seluvis inside the Rise.
  6. After you speak to all of them, go back to Ranni.
  7. At this point, Ranni will ask you to acquire the Fingerslayer Blade.

How To Get the Fingerslayer Blade

There are a couple of things to do before you can get your hands on the Fingerslayer Blade:

  1. Make your way to Caelid and defeat Starscourge Radahn.
  2. After defeating him, you’ll be able to access Nokron, Eternal City from Limgrave.
  3. Once you make it to Nokron, Eternal City, follow the path that leads to Night’s Sacred Ground.
  4. After you reach the Night’s Sacred Ground Site of Grace, you’ll find a building with a chest from a short distance.
  5. Inside the chest, you’ll find the Fingerslayer Blade.

After you give Ranni the Fingerslayer Blade, she’ll reward you with the Carian Inverted Statue.

The Carian Inverted Statue can be used to invert the Carian Study Hall, which is found along the eastern side of Liurnia of the Lakes.

After using the Carian Inverted Statues in the Carian Study Hall, you’ll be able to access the Divine Tower of Liurnia.

There you’ll be able to get the Cursemark of Death.

After picking the Cursemark of Death, Renna’s Rise will be accessible from the Three Sisters.

The next major step you need to make now is to acquire the Dark Moon Ring.

How To Get the Dark Moon Ring

Getting the Dark Moon Ring will allow you to access the Moonlight Altar and interact with Ranni’s body.

Now, you just need to follow these remaining steps to obtain the Dark Moon Ring.

  1. Make your way to Renna’s rise.
  2. At the top of the rise, you’ll find a portal that will lead you to Ainsel River.
  3. Once there, locate a coffin that contains the Miniature Ranni.
  4. After picking the Miniature Ranni, rest at the Ainsel River Site of Grace at pick the option “Talk to miniature Ranni”
  5. You’ll have to select the option three times in a row in order to trigger the conversation.
  6. The next thing you’ll need to do is to defeat the Baleful Shadow located in the Lake of Rot according to her request.
  7. Once you defeat him, Ranni will reward you with the Discarded Palace Key
  8. With this key, you’ll be able to open the chest in the Raya Lucaria Grand Library.

Inside the chest, you’ll find the Dark Moon Ring which is required to finish the last step of Ranni’s quest.

After acquiring the Dark Moon Ring, the final step, and probably the most challenging one, is to find Ranni’s body.

In order to find Ranni’s body, you’ll have to go through one of the hardest areas in Elden Ring and defeat a tough boss.

Follow these steps to finish Ranni’s quest:

  1. Travel back to the Lake of Rot Shoreside Site of Grace.
  2. Make your way across the Lake, but be careful of the Scarlet Rot buildup. It’s recommended to equip the Flame Cleanse Me spell to help you traverse the lake.
  3. Once you make it to the Grand Cloister, make your way down and then take the left.
  4. At the end of the path, you’ll find a coffin that you can interact with and take you to a boss fight.
  5. Defeat Astel, Naturalborn of the Void.
  6. Moving on, head north side of the chamber and keep progressing until you find a lift.
  7. Using the lift will take you directly to the Moonlight Altar where you can find Ranni’s body.
  8. Travel northeast toward the Cathedral of Manus Celes.
  9. Once at the cathedral Site of Grace, you’ll find a tunnel south and make your way down.
  10. You’ll find Ranni’s body at the bottom of the tunnel and a prompt to use the Dark Moon Ring.

Doing so will trigger a cutscene, and will unlock the Age of the Stars ending.

How to Activate the Age of the Stars Ending

After completing Ranni’s quest, you will be able to get the Age of the Stars ending.

When you defeat the game’s final boss, a blue summon sign will be on the ground, allowing you to summon Ranni.

Doing so will trigger the Age of the Stars Ending.
