There are benefits to killing Dung Eater and letting him live.

Therefore, there is no right or wrong answer as to whether you should kill him.

If you do kill him he will drop his armor alongside the Sword of Milos.

Conversely, if you let Dung Eater live, you’ll be able to summon him as an NPC later once his quest is completed.

What Happens if You Kill Dung Eater?

If you kill Dung Eater, he will drop his whole armor set and the Sword of Milos.

In addition, if you kill Dung Eater before finishing the Blackguard Big Boggart questline, Dung Eater will not kill Big.

That is why you should finish the Blackguard Big Boggart questline line before considering killing Dung Eater.

There’s also the Blessing of Despair ending to consider. If Dung Eater is dead, you won’t be able to trigger it.

If you do opt to kill him, it is recommended to finish Dung Eater’s questline before killing him.

Dung Eater is a Tarnished who resides in a Roundtable Hold chamber that is full of dead bodies.

His backstory is rather ambiguous, similar to that of other Elden Ring characters.

We do know, however, that his goal is to kill as many of his fellow Tarnished as possible in an effort to curse them, preventing them from returning to the Erdtree.
