How to Get to the Snow Area in Elden Ring

How to Get to the Snow Area in Elden Ring

The regions in the Lands Between are unique, each with its own terrain, enemy types, and loot drops.

One such terrain is the Elden Ring snow area, also known as the Consecrated Snowfield.

However, this particular area is optional and can easily be missed by a lot of players.

The snow area in Elden Ring can be reached by obtaining the Rold Medallion or by getting both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion.

Rold Medallion

If you want to take the easy way and you don’t wish to fight Melina, you can follow these steps:

  1. Defeat Morgot, The Omen King in Leyndell, the Royal Captial.
  2. After that, you will obtain the Rold Medallion.
  3. At the Grand Lift of Rold, use the Medallion to reach the snow area in Elden Ring.

This is the main route to the Elden Ring snow area. But, there is another way to get access to this area.

Haligtree Secret Medallion Halves

The second method to reach the snowy area in Elden Ring requires you to find two Key items which are: the Haligtree Secret Medallion two halves (right and left).

Haligtree Secret Medallion halves have the ability to operate Grand Lift of Rold.

This way, this medallion serves as an alternative way to open the path to the Consecrated Snowfield.

The right half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion may be found at the Village of the Albinaurics. This area is located on the southwest side of Liurnia of the Lakes.

From the Village of the Albinaurics Site of Grace, follow the cliff on your right and head up until you arrive at a conspicuously suspiciously isolated jar.

After attacking it, you’ll find a character named Albus hiding in it.

Talk with him, and he’ll give you the right side of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, instructing you to show it to an NPC called Latenna the Albinauric.

Latenna the Albinauric may be located in Slumbering Wolf’s Shack, south of the lake in Liurnia, with her wolf friend Lobo.

If you find and show her this medallion half, she’ll tell you where the other half is.

This will lead you to the left half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion

Left Location

If you’ve talked to Latenna the Albinauric, you’ll learn that the left half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion can be found in Castle Sol.

  1. First, you need to head over to Castle Sol which can be found north of the Stargazer’s Ruins.
  2. Starting from the Castle Sol Main Site of Grace, head inside and follow the flight of stairs path.
  3. Next, work your way all up while avoiding enemies until you find a boss fight.
  4. You need to defeat Commander Niall to progress.
  5. Once you’ve defeated him, go straight until you come across a building on your right.
  6. After you reach that building, you’ll find a lift.
  7. Go to the rooftop using that lift.
  8. Once there, go all the way to the top using the steps.
  9. Finally, you’ll discover a spirit next to the left half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion.

How to Use the Haligree Secret Medallion

Once you acquire both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, you will be able to use it at the Grand Lift of Rold to get to the Consecrated Snowfield.

In order to use it you need to at the bottom of the Grand Lift of Rold and toggle actions from “Hoist Medallion” to “Hoist Secret Medallion”.

Note that if you are at the top of the lift, this won’t work.
